glitchphil and I talked a bit about movies, and gave me a bit of a history lesson.  Back in the early days of movie making, production companies had a set amount of cash and a set amount of films to make.  The classics were where most of the cash were poured into.  The rest they produced were filler; their quality suffered as a result, and they were called B Movies (like the B side of old turntable records).

When I refer to "B Movie" I'm mostly referring to how bad they were. Of course, there's good B Movies, and then there's so horrible B Movies that they're hits.

Snakes on a Plane (which I haven't seen) was produced to be a B Movie, a cult classic.  The rendered TMNT feels like it's B Movie quality.  Garfield... isn't a B Movie.

I can't see Garfield as being horribly crappy. It's medocre, yes. It's ment to be bland and unoffensive, just like the comic.

It's like the BMW 5 series. It's just 15 feet of car. Nothing special, nothing extraordinary. It's the automotive equivilent of drizzle, but worse. And that's what Garfield is.
