If you're installing a Linux OS on a laptop, and you're more hard-core in Linux like me, avoid Ubuntu. It's a more user-friendly Debian, with less software pre-compiled.
And no, this was work related. I still need funds for a new laptop.

Date: 2005-05-12 11:06 pm (UTC)Ubuntu actually has almost as much software compiled, you just have to read the docs about adding the "universe" repository. It's also far, FAR more up to date than debian.
