I also heard that 2.4.17's going to be eazier on the pagecache. I hope dang well right, that thing chews up half the memory!!!

Same here. I can recover the RAM too, I just need a new mobo and case that won't fry everytime BGE(local power co) gets some idiot hitting the power lines while the computer itself is turned off.

I got the new mobo -- too bad I didn't get the memory -- which turns out to be a good thing for the time being. Check the full journal for details.
