Today is Monday, and I'm awake.
I went to bed at 1:30, and woke up at 8:30-something. No coffee, no tea, no caffene, no nothing.
I'm awake in this screwed up world. And it was screwed up last year before...
Before Sept 11th, we were slowly declining. Folks were passively being laid off, the tech boom went bust. People (including me) were looking for jobs and basically just 'existing'. The economy was declining.
Politically, it was edgy but bland. We had two Presidential candidates who were clones of each other, and Pres Bush won by running out the clock. The press then came in, counted the ballots properly, and found that it would of been close no matter what, and that they really need to use a better voting system other than paper punch-hole ballots.
Newswize, there was nothing exciting. There was the occasional scandal, but most of the news that was good was local. Hamas suicide bombers would try to grab the headlines every few weeks or so, but that was *over there* and we were *over here* and the distance was *too far away to even care*.
It was a booring time.
