- 06:18 Good morning. Windows 7 RC1 is now available, and I'm downloading it now. microsoft.com/windows7 #
- 07:38 If all is well, I should have the ISO downloaded. #
- 11:54 Dom DeLuise has died Monday. :( #
- 18:26 Okay, time to livetweet my install of Windows 7 RC1. #
- 18:26 DVD burned from download this morning. #
- 18:30 Destination rig is a 3xBoot Dell E1505, 2 gig of Ram, 1.6Ghz Core Duo, 250 gig HD, Nvidia Geforce 7300 Go GPU. It will go on a 40 gig area. #
- 18:30 Booting from the DVD now. #
- 18:33 Booted and at first prompt. Let's see how it screws up my system.. #
- 18:36 Formatted partition. Now slapping the new image in. #
- 18:44 Install going rather quickly. Just hit 100% on Expanding Windows Files... but then it is a imaged drive they're putting on there. #
- 18:51 And once again Windows has replaced the MBR boot record. Nice going Microsoft. #
- 18:54 And the damn wireless password on first boot is not hidden. We now have a security problem. #
- 19:02 And once again, it's at a base system using the Aero Basic setup. #
- 19:09 Ran through a troubleshooter... and loaded up three unknown devices plus my card reader. Forced an update on the graphics card now. #
- 19:13 Reboot Tango! Rebooting on the new graphics drivers. #
- 19:14 Sound now has been activated. Must of been one of those no-name drivers. #
- 19:15 Four more updates to install, one for the GPU again, another for the built-in modem. #
- 19:17 Reboot #2, let's see if it choked on the NVidia driver. #
- 19:25 And it did. Hide and work. #
- 19:36 slapping on software... Firefox says "Using IE is *so* 2006." #
- 19:41 Where is my !*)@#*( menubar in Explorer?!? #
- 19:59 Switched to Classic theme, had to go through Control Panel to get to Folder Options. Used to do that in the File Explorer windows. #
- 20:00 Installing latest Second Life for Windows. #
- 20:03 Okay, time to see how fast Win7 is. #
- 20:17 So far, no bumps, bruises, and working good. #
- 21:44 Okay, Burger King's "Kingon" Star Trek glasses commercial just annoys on first try. BIG FAIL. #
