As some folks know, whenever you print out documents, you get a bit of "ink bleed" on the paper, especially with inkjet printers. This, of course, is due to the paper absorbing the ink a bit. Well, my scanner exhibits a similar bleed.

This time, it scans in my inked drawings and thickens up the lines by 2 pixels per 300 dpi. If I'm going to reprint stuff for further drawing & markup, I have to select all the white and have it invade by a pixel all around. Otherwize, it's too thick, and when I scan it in again, it's overthick.

A company named ALPS made a good printer. But it wasn't dot matrix or laser, so it could print gold, silver and white if you had the cartridges. Bardusco can tell you more about it, he has the actual printer.
