Star Trek 11.
Nov. 17th, 2008 09:05 pmOkay, no drama here, please. It's offically "Star Trek" but it's the 11th Star Trek movie.
Trailers are at http://startrekmovie.com and you'll need Quicktime installed.
I'm not sure what to make of this. I'm at that crossroad at which I've seen...
It's not... well, it's very new. It grabs at the younger generation (18-25 year olds), but I don't know if they'll go for it.
Hell, I don't know if I'd go for it. I do know I won't pay full fare on Christmas Day to see it with fifty zillion Trekers/Trekees in costume and probably have the privilege of seeing yet another Klingon wedding ceremony in a megamovie theater. Two weeks out for a birthday present? Maybe.
I also looked at the Watchmen trailer, and all I can do is "Meh." I know it'll be accurate to Frank Miller's books, but... I've read it already, and I'm spoiled. Meh.

Date: 2008-11-18 02:30 am (UTC)Watchmen was written by Alan Moore and drawn by Dave Gibbons. Frank Miller has NOTHING to do with it. You might be confused given that along with Watchmen, Miller's Dark Knight Returns are held up as the comic books that pushed the industry into its more adult phase. Since that time, Miller really hasn't done anything all that fascinating and is currently in the process of taking a big ol' Sin City-style crap on Will Eisner's stellar strip from the 40's known as The Spirit.
