I don't have a problem with rights being reduced to married straight couples. If you want to push that "marriage is for children" argument that they use to deny it to same-sex couples, you _have_ to also do so for opposite sex couples that don't procreate. They can _both_ work for a living.

Nah, I don't want to push that. I'll let others do that. I think legally (IANAL) if Prop 8 survives a court challenge it'll downgrade everything.

I'm ok with the "marriage is for children" argument. It's an old standard. If you knock a chick up, you're married. You want a divorce? Give her half your junk. You still have to help pay for the kid until they reach adulthood. But if that happens, then you need an alternative to marriage that gets the same perks in the tax system.
