Okay, if I understand Christian tradition...

Good Friday is when Jesua Ben Joseph (aka Jesus Christ) was crucified and killed. Now, why it's named "Good" when a symbol of a religion died on that day. Isn't it supposed to be BAD?!?

Easter is when he came back from the dead. Now, back then it would of been a good thing, but today with the advent of zombies, that's not a bad thing, that's an EVEN WORSE thing.

Somewhere, a Zombie Jesus stalks the earth...

I think the 'Good' part of it is mainly a Catholic tradition; it's also known as "Holy" or "Great" Friday, or Long Friday, or Lamentation Friday depending on the denomination. I'm nondenominational Christian, so this is just a guess, but I believe that it's the sacrifice and the promise-- the death has to happen so that the Resurrection can be fulfilled. That God, made flesh, would suffer the pains of death for our sins-- and more importantly, for our redemption from sin, the forgiveness of all mankind. In that sense, it's "Good", because without the sacrifice on the Cross, there could be no Resurrection, no promise of life beyond this life and freedom from the torments of the world.

Though my fiancee tells me that not all theologians agree that the crucifixion was necessary as redemption from our sins-- that apparently is the Catholic tradition (which parents started at but left); it might instead be a necessary part of sharing the experiences of His creations-- living as we live, dying as we die; the sympathy and empathy with the human race. Another point would be that it would not be a sacrifice to replace us, but instead that by going where we go, as it were, Christ breaks an exit out of Hell for us when He died and passed beyond. Apparently, there's a lot of talk about it-- which I can understand. I sort of like the sympathy/empathy part with it. The whole "God of Love" bit.

As for Easter and the rebirth, remember, resurrection! Different spell than zombie. ;) Returns life, not creates undeath.

Take the Christian context completely out of it at this time. Just throw it out this one time, and look at it from a pure agnostic view.

Someone got hung on a cross, died a slow excruciating death, and somehow has "risen". That's more like a zombie there, and we'll need Ash and his shotgun.

Whats worse is that according to the LDS church, after he rose he came to AMERICA... so he's probably right in our back yard!
