Good news and bad.

Bad news first:  Mom's back in the hospital again.  Somehow something got pulled or whatnot and caused a ton of back pain beyond that related to the surgery.  After a few days she got a hold of the surgeon and he had her go back in.  Hopefully they'll find out what's going on.  Pain Management was no help at all.  She's being scanned and probed now to find out what's going on, and will be there at least overnight.

The good news:  Some planned upgrades were delivered today.  I'm now running a AMD X2 Brisbane 5000+, with 4 megs of RAM.  Dad will get my old chip on a new motherboard, go 2 gigs of RAM, and he'll have to get a new graphics card.

Dude! You did NOT just say "Mom's surgery went bad, but on the plus side my new CPU showed up". :-)

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that our family is thinking of yours, and that we all agree that the Brisbanes are sweeeet.

Nope. At this point we don't know what's going on. The back surgery was ok, this is something new.

So, to take my mind off things... new CPU. And new mobo, as Dad needs the extra IDE ports and the new mobo doesn't. :( But he's getting the low-end Brisbane anyway.
