$7,450 for a sewer line?!?

Mia Fillene popped a bit of bad news: Her house's main sewer line crumbled, and the already tight-in-funds demonvixen is $7,450 in the hole to get it replaced. She's landed a decent finance deal to get it replaced over the next two days, but... forget saving up for a new Mac for ten months!!!
The problem is, Mia's present Mac is an old PowerPC system that she has her SCSI scanner hooked into it. It runs MacOS 8. She needs a major upgrade, and perferably a MacBook laptop with a USB scanner.
I'm hoping we (me and
bibliophage ) can get a backup Linux PC out to her. Hopefully
gentle_wolfox can get his contribution out soon too. Hopefully I can pitch in with a keyboard, a mouse, and maybe a scanner.

Date: 2007-09-08 02:00 am (UTC)I have the new CDs to re-format it and restore it to 'factory' new condition..
Only thing that needs to be bought for it is a new power supply .. $79 at the apple store .. it can use the same supply as the G4 PowerBooks.
I already did a little talking to Mia about this .. and I'd even consider giving it to her, in exchange for a piece of art by her.
If you think this is a decent idea, you know how to contact me .. btw, the only real expense I'd ask for would be shipping .. I'll hunt the iBook down on my next day off and see about getting all my stuff off it. (need to anyway .. it's hasn't been re-formatted since I got the new motherboard for it.)
Has Slight damage to the left side .. the ethernet port is FUBAR, but the rest of the ports are okay. (cost of fixing is $600, but the computer works fine)
No AppleCare left on the machine, though.
