I am weak of will... I can barely function... Everywhere I turn the hype only sinks me deeper and deeper into this illness...

The geek is strong inside of me, and it has caught iPhone fever.  I will be marching down to the closest AT&T store today and buying one.

However, there are some moments of clarity.  Some planning was already done ahead of schedule before the announcement of the iPhone... I should be okay financially if I take this big hit.  Even then, I am a son of Maryland, and have the infamous Maryland Crabbiness bred into me -- it peeks through at the oddest of moments...  like now, as I peruse the SF Gate and see an obvious injustice.

Mr Jobs?  Steve?  It's the geeks here.  Please, can you do us a favor just this once?  Please make sure Steve Wozniak gets an iPhone for free, even if you have to refund his money for the phone itself.  Pleaaaaaase?

I can't say for the lockout. First, I'm an AT&T customer already, so that's little option there. They're working on an SDK, and with at least three tech blogs/news websites taking the thing apart Apple will be forced to open it up. I rarely use SMS and MMS. 3G connectivity is reportedly not mature, and a majority of 3G chips from Qualcomm are banned from import to the US. I have GMail, Yahoo! Mail, and I'll have to talk to Microsoft today about moving XP over to full metal.

I'm a sick puppy. Plus, no AT&T store nearby has 'em right now. :(

I'm going to call again at 12:15pm or so. If they don't have 'em, I'm setting my sites to the Apple store in Columbia this evening.
