Gentoo released 2006.1 today.  Unfortunately, this also means recompiling everything as GCC got bumped to 4.1.1, and the ABI used for every program got tweaked.

Crap.  That's a two day minimum downtime on the main rig.  Time to get another server loaded up, and I'll need to get a liveCD burned.

Anyone got any Pentium 3 motherboards they're trying to get rid of?

As for gentoo recompiling everything... That's why I stopped using Slackware and FreeBSD and why I've never gone to Gentoo. I don't have time for downtime.

Heh, I've forgotten all about that. So it's gone down has it? Eh, don't worry about it. At this point I'm not too worried about a $80 board. The car it was supposed to go in broke down anyway.

I do. It's a slot type and I even have a 667mhz P3 on it. I'm just not sure yet if it's functional. It's from an IBM 300PL if you want to check specs.

I got a board with two Socket-370 P3's on it... and it's also not working. Hoping to find one with an AGP slot and a Socket 370 so I can recycle as much as I can. At least I have a ton of PC100 RAM I can use with it.

Unfortunately, the 370 I just found under a pile of wires has dead capacitors. The only thing it's doing now is giving a home to a living 933mhz chip.
