Jark on dA pointed out on his external blog a new browser in public development called Swift.

What's unique is that it's using Apple's Webdev kit, which is just KDE Konqueror's KHTML engine.  If it gets past alpha status and hits 1.1 (it's currently 0.1) then it'll mark the fourth HTML engine to hit Windows.  In order, they are:  Mosaic/Netscape 4; IE; Mozilla/Firefox Gecko; Swift/KHTML.

I don't recommend using it just yet.  It is very very bare and has several items disabled.  But I'll be testing it anyway off and on, and making sure Konqueror works with some designs.

I think Mosaic was actually what now is IE. Netscape was always called Mozilla internally, the Mosaic killer. Then MS bought up Mosaic and turned it into IE.

There's also Opera, and probably many other html engines that are dead now.
