...until Slashdot posted up screenshots of Windows Vista.

Folks, MS Paint is a joke.  Jokes about jokes (aka meta-jokes) aren't funny. *mods all the metajokes down as Overrated*

I have no problems with Vista, since they're rewriting parts of it (and finding things being faster/more secure). They're tossing things out of privlaged space like audio and whatnot, and finding it actually faster. They're tossing out IE from being integrated in Windows Explorer (THANK $DEITY!) which now makes any court testimony saying they couldn't do it grounds for purjury!

I just have problems with Paint. It's output is BMP even though it can read anything out there. It has the basics that you can get through any web-paint Java program out there, and that's it. Forget photos. Forget web graphics. Forget doing anything but refrigerator art and *maybe* sprite webcomics. We even have to tell people on Comic Genesis "STOP UPLOADING PAINT BMPS!!!!! USE GIMP INSTEAD!" to which they change the extention to .GIF and wonder why it doesn't work and why the elder CG'ers are yelling at them to stop using Paint and throwing URL's at this Gimp thing at them.
