For everyone who is celebrating your local near-year-end holidays, may your event be joyus and festive, yet somber and reverent. Folks have lost alot this year -- Others have gained respectfully, and more have found others to be with. Let us not forget those who have left our worlds, our realms; but let us celbrate their life. Be careful and be safe.

Of course, if you wish to hang around and let me talk your ear off about General Protection Fault, I will.

I just read the posted-on-Christmas strip of GPF, well within Jeff Darlington's latest saga for it, "In Thine Own Self."  Afterwards, I promptly removed it from my bookmarks.

You may remember the Websnark's commentary on it after Jeff's first saga, "Surreptitious Machinations."  You should review it... because I'm now in the same boat as Eric.  Jeff tried for the "Cerebus syndrome", shifting from a gag-a-day with a little continuity to full plot over a long period of time.  Several folks have done it, and done it well.  Others try, and tank.  What Eric says is getting "First and Ten."

Well, Eric, move over.  He's tried again, after giving it a second chance... and got First and Ten.  We got a load of Nick's genius in one Gatorade shower, when drawing it out longer would of done better -- and now his inventions are now biting him in what could be a clone of the TV show Sliders.  And I hated Sliders.

Eric would say "He had me, and he lost me."  Phil would say "I gave it a chance."  Me, GPF initially hooked me with the Productivity Virus.  But... Jeff turned his back.

He had hooked me, but he let me escape.

Um... I think the correct term is that he got called on illegal procedure went from first and 10, to first and 15... to first and 20... etc etc... until he got to the point where he had to travel half the distance to the goal...

And basically nickle-and-dime'ing up the field until you have to punt -- and they fumbled the ball. I stuck past the half-time show, but the game was lost already, and I left.
