As you know, I'm not only a webcomic artist, but a webcomic reader. A junkie who's also a pusher. A dealer with a habit. Put in your own drug references here.

Of course, I'm not alone. Ping Theo (Phalanx) is also in the same boat. Phil Kahn also is there. T Cambell. Good company. They usually comment on other webcomics, similar to what Eric Burns does as the Websnark. And now... I'm jumping on board.

This case in point is today's Gaming Guardians. While I cannot fault the writing... today I'm faulting the artwork.

If you've been through their forums, or to the Napping Cat's Dream forums, you'll see several threads of General Caine, alot of them with damn good artwork. Caine's player (who also plays Pingu) has a very good solid concept with his character and his threads that cross over between GG and NCD. He's commissioned very good artists to render Caine.

Then GG's artist, WebTroll, does his version. It's like he forgot the ruler and about half an hour of research into the character and the threads in NCD. While I can give some leeway for rendering a difficult character, WebTroll in his rendering of Caine takes his stock car and manages to drive it INTO turn one, hitting the SAFER barrier, and somehow flip over it and into the track's large fence. I know he can do better. I know he has done better.

He should redraw Caine.
