I know that already, Keri. I also know what's been reported on the news.

Heh. In general it's always around 2.50 to 2.60 here in Orange and up into LA. I'm not discounting that it could be up to 3.00...but probably for premium. I went home to Ohio for the past weekend and marvelled at the 2.29 gas price...

Ohio's back up to about 2.50 at the moment. :(

Heh...I was watching a report on oil prices the other night... I had the urge to break a tv during the report when someone was quoted "A tank of gas just doesn't get you as far anymore"... and everyone in the room turned and said wtf, lol.

I don't have a vehicle of my own...

And you know what?

I'm glad.

Even if it weren't for the gas prices, insurance rates where I live are insane. I'll stick to public transit and my bicycle for a bit while longer. If anything gas-powered, perhaps a small scooter or motorbike for longer trips.

No reason to. With the high price of oil imports, they're making money hand over fist. They're finally able to compete in price! :)

I'm glad my insurance rates are fairly low. Even with full coverage on my newer car here, it's only about $45 per month. Moving from my old car that got between 28 and 33 in town to my new one that gets 24-25 (darn Automatic Transmission) my gas bill has gone up by quite a bit. It's still only around $150 per month including insurance.

Part of the problem with waiting to get a car is that the first 8 years or so you are driving your insurance will be between 2 and 4 times as high as after you have been driving for 5-8 years. My insurance was always over $100 until I turned 25. Between 24 and 26 it dropped 3 times, first to 88, then to about 60, finally to $33 per month.
