Mail arrived with a *THUNK!* as the ordered motherboard came in... and was "dropped" off at my door by the post office.  No *dingdong* no nothing.  Maybe that's what the USPS is trying to do, imitate UPS and FedEx.

The new LCD cable came, and yep, it's more intact than the one in there.  I swapped it out and the display's looking good.  Also, extra memory came from Coast to Coast Memory.  redwolf is up to 128 megs of RAM.

Now if the keyboard comes this week, I'll have a usable laptop.

Nah, if I get a road-worthy keyboard I'm getting a Happy Hacking Keyboard (http://store.yahoo.com/pfuca-store/haphackeylit1.html).

Mwahahaha. That was actually my first thought too, but I figured it'd be a temporary thing rather than permanent. One of those mini keyboards is always fun to have around though. I was going to get one for my right-side linux desktop, but ended up with a low end usb keyboard because of time constraints.
