My firewall died.

It's going to get ditched and I'm getting an actual router.  Staples has 'em cheap.

linkysys WRT54G or GS ... it runs linux and is hackable

It looks like I'll be buying one -- the closest two Staples are out of the $5-after-rebate Linksys Wifi-B router.

The wifi-B routers aren't as hackable. The Linksys WRT54GS is probably the best to get, and it is the one I have. It has 32mb of ram, 8mb flash, 200mhz processor while the G has roughly half that on every spec (with the exception of the processor, which is 125mhz.)

Circuit City had it for $90 with $20 worth of rebates a couple months back.

I installed OpenWRT linux and added my same old firewall scripts from my old debian box, modifying them to work on the non-debian platform.
