Striker, after reading that article and the comments following it, I have come to the conclusion that slashdot is crying wolf when there is no wolf.
Apparently the city by the bay does not want to regulate blogging at all. If it was, then it waas only for political views. However, it seem ithe city wants political campaings to divulge are "advertising" expenses, including thoseregarding "blogging".
There would be no way any government authority to enforce any law on blogging, as who is to prove where one is posting from or living.
As one travels their point of entry to the 'web moves as well. you could try to use one's permenant residence as a guide, but very few people use their actual names on their blogs.
So, I put this article up to not understanding the true meaning of the law and the general hysteria that some people have regarding the Bill of Rights.
