Patrick Volkerding, head of Slackware, needs our help!  He's suffering some mystery ailment, and has posted to Slackware-current this message.

Slackware is a "distributon" of Linux, similar to what Hormel is to chili and Cambels is to soup. The main differences with Slackware is mainly the KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) attitude towards the software on it, and that the screen saver has J. R. "Bob" Dobbs' face, who said "GIVE ME YOUR SLACK OR KILL ME!" and was thusly shot for his belifs. To bring in the Church of Subgenus, Slackware is very slackful IMHO.

He should head on down to MeritCare if he's feeling sick. It's on Broadway. Or head up to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks (45 minutes from Fargo). They have a medical school there.

Rochester isn't far from here, either, so he could get out to he Mayo Clinic if he could get an appointment.

Either way, Fargo probably ain't the best place to combat infectious diseases, especially with the nasty winter that's coming.
