Ugh... I want to write instead of draw or do comics... yeah, Stalag '99 is going to be late again, I'll try to update it first thing in the morning.

Updated the BIOS on tygris hoping to get that motherboard out later on when I build a new system for the boss.  It'll take some time, though -- I have to get parts from NewEgg and I don't have the cash to do it.  Tried to find other vendors who could beat them... but nope, NewEgg was the best price.  At least I already have a nForce board to replace this VIA POS.  I can't trust VIA to get a south-bridge right.  At least I'll also get some older hardware in return and see about getting it fully dual-processor and on SCSI drives I have.  I mean, I got 68-pin drives that will work in there.  I just need to eyeball them with Spinrite for a while.

redwolf's new fan assembly is going to come in hopefully tomorrow.  I'll be replacing the one in that laptop, and hope it works.  If not, I got more problems with that laptop, and may have to look for a mainboard for it.  Maybe gentle_wolfox has a CPi R-series board...

Oh well, busy day tomorrow...

Redwolf's new fan is in, and works great.  All that's needed now is a CMOS battery and a regular battery -- the latter is going to cost me $50 if I go through PriceWatch or eBay; $200 through CompUSA; nada from BestBuy, RadioShack, nor Circuit City; and for kicks, $130 from Dell direct.

A lone human arrives at Union Space Station in DC via a reworked TransTrain.  He walked, carring a backpack and a duffle bag, and into the line going into the station.  It would be a short wait, he thought, but soon, his troubles would be over.

When it was his turn, he stepped up to the guard, and looked at her...

...or up at hir.  A 9' tall Observer Wolfskunk, toned, yet a bit of a bust on hir.  Shi took his passport and infostick, and then started in a low whisper in his ear.  "You do not want to walk in there.

"Let me tell you this.  I noticed you trying to be calm since you stepped onto the platform, and I know which ones are generally nervous since it's their first time here, and the ones which are nervous because they're hiding something.  C4, for example, which you positively reek of.  So if this is another attempt to blow yourself up into martydom, I suggest you reread your Koran, and this time with a different translation than what's on some website.  Infact, I suggest reading four translations.  I find your human scholars quite entertaining when they're debating differences over one little symbol and what it could mean, and I do mean in any religion.

"Now, if you walk into the detection unit here, you will be sealed off until two Detectives come out, arrest you for having a bomb, and take you to be strip searched.  You'll then be interrogated, prosecuted, and the penalty of being a terrorist is to have your mind wiped clean and reprogrammed.

"You do have an 'out'.  Look to your left.  You see the big beefy Dryger there with the four arms?  He's my friend.  Go to him, and give him your bomb.  Tell him everything you know, and he'll let you in.  You won't die, but you'll get to keep your soul.

"Oh, and don't try to set the bomb off.  It's already disabled.  You see, there was a Bond on the train, and shi stole the detinator mechanism and your backup pair of matches.  The same goes for the one in your pack and bag."

He looked at the Observer, with a frown.  He then thought there for a minute... and then turned left and walked to the uniformed Nali and asked a few questions.  Satisfied, he took off his bomb and gave them to the fur.  Another Nali came and took over as the two went in and chatted for some time.

An elder couple had noticed the exchange, and asked the Observer "What did you say?"

"The truth," the Observer replied, "as I've seen and smelled.  I'd like to thank you for comming to Canmeph 2, but I must warn you that most furs have much more sensitive nozes, so please try not to wear that perfume if you can get away with it.  WHEW!!!"
