Had several problems due to how Gentoo replaced some scripts inside pcmcia-cs -- filed a bug with a replacement ebuild for pcmcia-cs to keep the old stock behavor of those tools...  which fixed wireless.

I'm now having problems getting sound working on it.  I get "playback write error (DMA or IRQ trouble?)" in my /var/log/syslog.

redwolf's audio isn't working -- ALSA's complaining about "playback write error (DMA or IRQ trouble?)".  I'm half tempted to temporarily slap Windows 2000 on there after backing the HD up, and then getting as much data as I can.  I should of done it while WinME was on there, getting system info.

Of course, putting Gentoo back on it will be a cinch, because all I really need to do is boot into a Slackware CD, get back on the 'net, and tarball the entire drive.  If it's small enough, I'll burn a CD of the tarball and gain a speedup there... but I need it to get under 700 megs.  It's nearly 1.4 gigs now, and I need to get 2:1 w/gzip... unless I pull Knoppix and see if that runs.
