May. 8th, 2005 10:22 pmA person in Pasadena, MD was giving away three Laserjet printers, a IIP, a IIP with a tray, and a IIIP with a tray. I snatched them up so they could join my origional III.
The tray-borne IIP works well after replacing some of the foam rollers (which the guy gave me). The IIIP needs a new drum gear assembly, which is going to cost $20 plus shipping. The origional III apparently needs $25 in repairs itself, as the paper's jamming on exit (ether up top or out the back). I haven't checked the unadorned IIP.
I did find a site called fixyourownprinter.com, which has a repair forum for discussing problems, and sells the parts and instructions. Bookmarked that for later reference, as I found a thread on their forums concerning clogging of my Epson C82 printer.
