May. 4th, 2004 07:30 pm| Microsoft is expected to recommend that the "average" Longhorn PC feature a dual-core CPU running at 4 to 6GHz; a minimum of 2 gigs of RAM; up to a terabyte of storage; a 1 Gbit, built-in, Ethernet-wired port and an 802.11g wireless link; and a graphics processor that runs three times faster than those on the market today. --- Microsoft Watch, Longhorn to Steal Limelight at WinHEC |
TWO GIGS OF MEMORY?!?! What is Bill thinking?!?! We're just getting reliable motherboard that can handle that, we don't have 1+ terabyte IDE or SCSI drives, nor built-in Gigabit Ethernet, nor NVidia processors that run just as hot as the PC itself!!!!
Well folks, you don't need that with Linux. You can still get online with a Pentium 100 and 40 megs of ram and read Schlock Mercenary to your hearts content.
