As you may of known, my mom's feline (the compulsively paranoid black Bombay-ish mutt) tends to "spam" in the foyer.

Spam in the sence of letting loose.  Likes to go normally in the pan, but every so often she dumps in the foyer.  So we're trying various items -- this time changing the cat litter.

We were using a corncob litter, before the fine grind became unavailble.  Then we went to a clumping wheat litter, which is so much eazier to take care of (just sift and flush).   Now we're trying out a pine pellet litter.  Dad got a four-week supply bag -- which is about the size of two sacks of potatos.

Now, let me tell you about the litter pans we use.  We bought them at WalMart.  A large WalMart.  There's two types of WalMarts.  One that the WalMart was put in an existing building, and one that was build around a WalMart.  This is the latter.  The litter pan shows.  It's a fairly deep (like 6 inches) and of good size.  No cats have complained -- or ever got lost.

Getting back to the pine pellet litter, the instructions on the bag say "fill to one inch high."  So I pour out the old litter, and fill to one inch.

I went through the whole bag.

I have witnesses.  Dad was watching.  That four week supply?  One inch on the noze.  Of course, I fill the rest with the old litter like on the package.

If that was a four week supply, I think it would be four times larger.  Where's the truth in packaging?!?
