Oh my brain is on overdrive. I think I have someting even better. A String Tweaking engine.
It alters reality at it's core level, making a wormhole to the exact place you want to go to.
The gravimetrics on a ship tweak strings to generate gravitrons. When that's extended (in the ship I'm thinking Feyd would get) the string tweaker can act as a finite improbablity generator that's smaller and doesn't need tea to work.
