*sigh* Dean's just lost my vote. First was the Scream and then I read from CNN that he "leads from the heart." (his quote).
I don't like that, leading from the heart. Life is about facts being thrown in your face! If you want to ignore that and be idiotic, then I don't want you as president.

Date: 2004-01-23 08:33 pm (UTC)And as far as that Yeah goes, simple explanation: Dean is a man who apparently has not learned to orate. Orators must undergo voice coaches, not unlike singers. A real orator may speak for hours on end and not suffer a strain of the vocal cords. What happened to cause Dean's squeak was that, due to the cumulative strain on his vocal cords, he was apparently using undue air pressure to compensate for his tired voice--- which backfired with a rapid open-and-close of his vocal folds letting the excess air out and thus causing the squeak. If his voice broke constantly, then this may indicate that Dean may suffer from a case of nodules or polyps in his vocal cords, which renders them uncapable of regulating air current properly-- which is often a byproduct of shouting instead of projecting. That is what caused Dean's squeak. I have heard it happen many times with singers with damaged vocal cords, as well as public speakers with nodules.
