This is STriker RedWolf with your year-end review.
Tentions continue as Israeli and Pakistani factions continue to clash over Palestine. Many critics are replying that this doesn't bode well for the "Peace Plan" that both sides have agreed too.
While Osama Bin Laden has not been found since Aftganistan was invaded by the US, Sadam Hussein was finally captured after over a decade of running. It took another invasion of US troops to take care of it.
Locally on the US front, the RIAA continues to shoot itself in the feet as it tries to sue several teenagers for sharing music. Telecom company Verizon has won an appeal saying that the RIAA's tactics of asking ISP's for info on swappers before filing charges were illegal. In addition, Apple opened up it's iTunes 99-cent-per-song store to Windows users, and immedately got flooded with new users.
The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 was signed into law, making it slightly more difficult for spammers to stuff junk into email boxes. While this was one small step, industry experts denounced the act as the I-Can-Spam Act, that it doesn't go far enough, overides state laws which totally ban spamming, and gives individuals no right of redress.
Once again the Dow hit 10000 by years end, but many industries continues to flood people into unemployment. Many companies are outsourcing technical support to India, to much disatisfaction of customers. Only a few have switched back to in-house support.
Two snipers were convicted of multiple murders around the DC area. One, the adult John Allen Muhammad, was sentinced to death while the younger child, Lee Boyd Malvo, received life without parole.
Snow shut down a good portion of the East Coast earlier this year, while at the other end earthquakes rocked Calinfornia and unusually Virginia.
