Keenspace isn't so much cracking down on Hotlinking images as it is comics.

Translation:
The day I disabled hotlinking /comics and followed up with banning most known page scrapers, the "page visits" on everyones sites went up 30%, thus 30% more potential real visits. Ad-supported services need the page views because their ad sponsors will not count ads shown that are directly loaded (no referrer), will not count save-to-disk'ed pages or any other offline storage.
