Future hardware

I'm getting antzy again about hardware... and what the future will entail.

My Linux box is showing it's age. I'm now mostly over on a slightly-younger iMac, and the only thing I'm using the Linux system on is... GIMP, and I can transition that over rather easily. Worse comes to worse, I'll use VMWare Fusion with a KUbuntu install.

I think it's time that I switch 100% to a Mac for my personal use.

The lowest end iMac is a 1920x1080 screen for $1200. I'll need a DisplayPort to DVI adapter, which will run me about $40-$50. That way, I'll have two screens still.

It also means I'll have spare hardware, including a 320 gig SATA drive.

In the meanwhile, I'm looking at $200 for a decent SSD drive for the netbook before FC. If I can hold onto the cash and get a discount on my health insurance, I'll be able to get it.

DVI adapters are $10-$20, unless you're going with one that has an apple on it.
