Why is it that most of the esoterical sodas like Sunkist, Fanta, and Dr. Pepper have Sodium Benzonate, which studies are saying can cause Parkisons?

To protect taste, according to my can of Sprite here.

Because they can charge you for it and you'll pay just to get the glorious corn syrup fix you desire? Stop reading the can! You're not allowed to question the can. Just drink.

The compound stimulates parts of the brain. It's a bit of a narcotic. Drink up.

Just to point something out.

My grandmother had Parkinson's disease. As far as I know, she rarely, if ever, drank carbonated sodas at all. They've linked hers with the flu epidemic from her childhood.

I'd be REALLY suspicious about those studies, myself. Especially since apparently cranberries, apples, cinnamon, and several other fruits and berries contain it - naturally.

[Insert vaguely offensive Michael J. Fox joke here.]

Hrmm, potassium benzoate. Not the same, but quite close. Gee, I wonder what the next study will study.

Dr. Pepper isn't even a real doctor. He's just a pharmaceutical industry shill. Last I saw him, he was promoting some weight-loss pill which had the mild side effect of making your head twist right off your neck like a bottlecap.
