strredwolf: (Hmmmmmmm)

It's 2007 out where I am now.  With the bombs bursting in air, and Garrison Keilor on the telly, an interesting though came through my little gray cells as the clock switched from 2006.

Take out the pagentry, the partying, the shows, the glamor...

The tracking and preparing, the announcements and reminders...

...and 2007 at the start is kinda feeling just like 2006.

Whatever happened to that magic, that pop when the new year kicked in?  Did I loose it?  I remember back, and it's "3! 2! 1! *PAUSE/GASP!* HAPPY NEW YEAR!"  Isn't there supposed to be something that absolutely let you know, like you felt it, that it was a new year?  Nothing external?  Just that innorate kick or that nice jolt of temporal power that comes with the new year.

I'm not feeling it.

Interesting times, they say.

At least with Chinese new year, you get a dancing dragon.
