So I'm at my sister's house, wasting time.  So while I have a moment online, let me get something off my mind.

I may have already written about this.  It's of a simple subject:  TV Commercials.  The only way to truly rate them is to measure how long it will be before they get annoying.  The best commercials by far are the ones that are ether too bland to be forgetable, or too funny so that they don't get annoying for a long time.  The worst ones are when you hear it comming and reach for the remote control by instinct.

A car flipping it's hood up against a flying bird, smaking it over onto the pavement is an example of the first.  The latter would be most anything by "Joe Isusu" -- which makes me wonder if that car company has gone bust now or just pulled out of the US market.

This now starts to apply for radio commercials.  Today we heard one for a local event at a car dealership, which ended with a large belch.  The commercial's announcer replied "Now wasn't that better?  Had the Johnny Pollock's Sausage, I see?" *BWWWAAAARRRRPP*

While I am an incorrigible punster (do not incorrige!) I tend to see commercials sort of like puns in that they both are inversely humorous, according to the number of times seen. First time, lots o' laughs. Third time, (especially within an hour as some ad buys seems to go, especially on the cable channels,) not so much. By the fifth or sixth time, I'm usually changing the channel whithin the first couple of seconds of the ad in question.
