Bookworm in Texas sent over two Toshiba Satellite 115CS laptops. One, now named 'redwolf', thankfully has a nice Slack 8 install on it. The other, which is going to be dad's laptop, needs repair -- but I found a place where they sell Toshiba laptop parts. They need to be upgraded anyway, fill 'em out to 40-48 megs of memory, but it's going to take $90 per laptop to do it from what I see.

I'm going to try to pool my money.

The Compaq LTE 4/33C's going to be renamed "tux", re-IP'ed, wiped a bit and sold off of e-bay... unless someone wants to make a good offer for it. 486SL 33 Mhz, 20 megs RAM, 520 meg HD, internal modem and integrated trackball mouse, color LCD (640x480 8-bit AVGA-driven screen) , and the massive dock which I put in a 1 gig HD. Include four batteries, two I belive are completely dead, and a copy of Slackware 8 (CD's plus what is already installed). I sunk in about $150 into it over the years. I becha it'll take $30 to ship it all out.

Nice. I have Slackware on this laptop (tried Debian and didn't like the installer), and it's a 3/4ths gig drive I've managed to squeeze it in. May recompile a few things for space.
