The quote from Team Fortress 2's Sniper seemed appropriate for the news that Osama bin Laden (FBI name: Usama bin Laden) was shot and killed in a coordinated military operation in a Pakistani mansion. They got the body and confirmed that it was him.

There's so much to say about this. The main thing is that he's been eliminated; we now just got to mop up the split Al-Kida (sp?) organization and clean up our earlier Cold War messes. Then we can heal and rebuild.

This event does give us some chance to enact some changes: reform the TSA to be more open and accountable, remove most of the PATRIOT act, and start reforming laws to allow for innovation (aka reform patent and copyright law). I hope this event will lead to those things.

Politically (and you can skip the rest of this post) is something else.

If you've been following Twitter, you got the ideas, but if you haven't:

* "Dubba" Bush took over 5 years with nothing to show for it, but Obama took 3 to get it done. (Insert race-related joke here)

* The reason why it took 3 years to get Obama's full birth certificate released? He was too busy tracking down bin Laden.

* Bin Laden's death could of been made a week ago, but that damn Donald Trump demanded the Full Monty. (Ironically for West Coast TV viewers, the news interrupted Celebrity Apprentice)

One point I do want to refute: Some say Obama took this as a political show. Listen, he's *Commander in Chief of the Military*. That means he's the final boss for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. He's _allowed_ to do it. That's part of his job as being President. Don't believe me? It's in the Constitution.
