...but it doesn't feel like it.  It really doesn't.

Unfortunately, there's not one person to blame.  It's groups of groups of people.

For instance, the Vatican Pope has urged for religious freedom. This is in response to China's one-church policy (which breaks tradition) and violence in Iraq, Nigeria, the Phillippines, the Middle East, and the Korean peninsula.

My problem is "You first."  The Vatican has yet to recognize all the alternate faiths inside it's umbrella, and that it needs to return to it's original roots of being tolerant and loving.  It's like the original teachings have been forgotten.  So what if they're Protestant? So what if they're black? So what if they're homosexual? Be loving, be tolerant.  Hate breeds hate, but love and tolerance conquers all.  That's what the Vatican should be preaching.

And if you thought religion was bad, politics ranks right up there.

For those who were flying, I hoped you didn't get groped (or arrested/fined), but called security on those going through the back doors to secured areas.  TSA's been caught again not being very secure, and needs transparency on top.  The "censored for national security" excuse is getting old and thin.  I'd urge you to contact your CongressCritter and let them know that you want TSA's funding held up until they start explaining themselves in public (not in private session).

Not only that, we've wasted time in Iraq that we should have kept in Aftganistan. We're finally pulling out of Iraq, and concentrating back on finding Bin Laden... if he's still in Aftghanistan.  Rumor has it he's in Pakistan now, and there's little activity actually being spent by that fragile government even though we're pumping millions into it.  I would say to Pakistan "If you want continued aid, get us his head on a platter.  Otherwise, you are wasting our time."  Then we get with India, and start planning an invasion.

I do see some good finally coming out, nearly one decade after the 9/11 attacks in 2001, but not from the TSA.  Instead, from the FBI.

Slowly, inside-the-country terrorists are being detected and removed before they could attack.  McVey? Nope, Antonio Martinez, a naturalized citizen from Somali who wanted to blow up a recruitment center in Maryland. The FBI was able to carefully contain him early on, and from what I see, there will be little problem prosecuting him.

I also here that Maryland's job growth is double that of the national average now.  Hopefully that'll translate to a stronger economy and... hopefully... a raise in my paycheck.

Here's to hoping.
