What if... AC had no DLCC...
Mar. 9th, 2009 08:46 pmHypothetical situation. The DLCC gets contaminated and cannot be cleaned up in time for Anthrocon. What's AC to do?
Well, AC needs a convention center. Cramming itself into one hotel no longer can be done, it's just too huge.
There are a few choices. I consider Baltimore, because is relatively close by. It has a convention center bordered by various hotels (and has just opened up a Hilton with walkway to the CC, so no crabby Marylanders trying to run over a fursuiter). Transportation to the CC is actually quite abundant: There's a light rail (read: trolley) line from both an Amtrak station and the airport itself that stops at the Conventon Center itself, and hotels around BWI have shuttle service to the light rail stop up from the airport, so there's in effect a ton more hotels. It's only about 25 minutes to the CC from the Airport, and relatively cheap one way.
Logistics are a problem, but may be helped by some local furs. Plus, we do have a fur inside the local MTA. :)
Anyway, some ponderings.
