Obama and Clinton.
Aug. 25th, 2008 08:17 pmForget the LJ CUT tag. There's one thing that needs to be aired out now.
CLINTON AS VICE PRESIDENT WOULD SPLIT THE PARTY. PERIOD.
Why I say this? Simply put, Hillary Clinton is in her own little world, separate of both the Real World and whatever is going in inside the Capital Beltway. She did almost everything to be the next president, including pulling alot of tricks that Richard Nixon pulled. The difference is, she was caught BEFORE she became president. Not after.
Reports were that her campaign was heavily in debt. The verified fact of her loaning money to her campaign lends credence to that.
Bill Clinton's actions also undercut her campaign, making it alot worse than what Hillary could do alone... if she ever did much at all other than support Bill when he was President. Oh, you forgot President Bill Clinton already?
So what would Hillary bring to Obama's table? There's no direct foreign relations experience at all, no tangible record of a political career save for the X amount of time she's been in the Senate, and... oh, the women's vote. Which is covered already by THE BIG O. Opera Winfrey, who has more influence than Hillary Clinton, has a media empire at her helm... and is endorsing Obama.
In effect, Clinton would of done nothing but drag Obama down, and make McCain look much more appealing.
I wasn't suprized that Joe Biden got the nod. Wisdom on the street is that Obama just needed an experianced hand, and he got it with Biden. He also taps many intelectuals such as Prof. Lawrence Lessig, who's well reguarded within the realm of copyright and patent law as it relates to computers, networks, and the Internet at large.
