I will not be attending Otakon.
Jun. 14th, 2008 10:26 pmAC is in, Otakon is out. My main purpose of attending, the Webcomics 102 panel, was denied (for ether subject matter, which was "Getting your comic online and traffic in," or lack of room on the schedule, which is always packed for the past three years).
I will be informing the panelists I've gathered about this.
It is unfortunate that Otakon will not refund my registration in any case, according to their FAQ. I feel I have wasted $55 for absolutely no reason... and that means there must be a change.
Otakon will need to expand, ether in time or in space. Unfortunately, I see no inclination in doing so, and the fee for nothing was the last straw.
I'm going to follow Something Positive's Randy's lead. Otakon will no longer have a Comic Genesis/Keenspot presence by my hand. It's greylist has turned several shades black.
