iPod People
Apr. 6th, 2007 07:18 pmSo I went down to the Apple Store in Annapolis, MD to get the iPod. It's a relatively smallish store, but rather clean. Software was put to the back, the staff picked up on my "I WANT MY IPOD" cues and went straight-forward. Guy was at a register too, but checked me out with a wireless hand-held register. Got my receipt emailed to me.
And so I have a 80 gig iPod. I was expecting a physical spinning click wheel, but instead it's like a tablet -- you drag your finger around the wheel to scroll. It's one finger remixing! But I could say it would be a preview for the iPhone, a logical extension of the tech. Maybe Wacom could sue if Apple tries to patent it.
After loading up iTunes 7, I was able to load most of my music into the system. Most, I got Ogg Vorbis encoded music there. I can convert it to AAC easily enough. Video is... fairly easy. After a bit of research I'm converting all of my archived Top Gear to iPod's MP4 format, which is easier to do.
