DC, V for Vendetta, and other stuff
Apr. 28th, 2006 06:28 pmSo I'm in DC today instead of Baltimore, as early plans fell through. No matter, I wanted to go down here anyway at a particular point. So I'm futzing around on this post. Movies first:
- United 93 is a movie which I will not be seeing. I won't dispute that it will be a good movie, or that the timing may or may not be right, or it's mostly factual. I just don't feel like it's worth my time.
- V for Vendetta however, I did see today. Quite intresting of a plotline, with alot of crossover with real life. However, I don't see it getting that bad in most democracies. We're close here in the US, but we have a reason and an opportunity to turn it around. Iran... that's a different story that very closely parallels the state of the country today. I think I'm far enough in the 25th century to give Iran a similar plotline. Similar, not a duplicate. I doubt Iran will want to participate in biological weapons.
- Another note for V for Vendetta, two bits of spoiler. It has the requisit amount of BLAM! and the "government" troups haven't been reading their copies of The Seven Highly Effective Habits of Pirates.
- Pirates of the Carrabean 2 is going to be a stinker, by the preview. Someone call Waldorf and Stadler on this movie.
- The latest Superman retelling? May be nice but the CG's already ruined the preview. You know me, if the FX in the movie screams I've been digitally rendered! Look at me!!!! LOOK AT ME NOOOOOOW! it turns me off.
