Not again...
Jul. 3rd, 2005 05:57 pmGentoo just maked KDE 3.4.1 as stable in their Portage tree. That means I have to recompile EVERYTHING.
Now granted, they got a split ebuild of KDE, so I'm only merging in the metapackages of kdebase, kdegames, kdegraphics, kdemultimedia, kdemetwork, kdeutils, and the seperate eyesapplet. But it's still going to be a huge undertaking... so ccache and distcc to the rescue.
[ * ] Is Slack's GCC compatible with Gentoo's GCC? Yes!
[ * ] Update all Slack-bearing computers to the latest GCC.
[ * ] Get ccache and distcc configured and running on the "farm".
tygris is the main system compiling things. redwolf, mikail, aquin, and neobast will aid the compile. If there's any duplication of code being compiled, ccache will take care of it. Distcc will distribute things out to the rest.
