Yes, he could. Or shi could. WolfSkunk Dean would be President, and this would be hir second term... or rather, early in the second term. If we use Sol 3 years, it would be about five years.
So if Dean screamed from Canmeph 2, and it was broadcast, how long would it take to hear the transmission using regular, 21st century tech (assuming perfect transmission and conversion due to red shift)?
Good question. You see, I never set a good distance between the two star systems. For the first try, I looked up when Howard first screamed (Jan 19th, 2004), calculated how much distance a radio transmission would go (or electrical, which mean speed is the speed of light, 3.0*10^8 m/s) . 1.6 lightyears.
That didn't look right. So I pushed it back four years, to when we had Sandra find out shi's huge. This gives it to about 6 light years. That sounded right, because Alpha Centauri's 4.3 light years away.
Which means, next week, RedWolf's going to hear it, and all of you are now spoiled.
