Dec. 23rd, 2004 12:56 amOn one of the many trips down to my sister's house, I realize that currently, on Canmeph 2, a rather entertaining abuse of transportal technology can provide the same excitement to kids as Santa Claus entering the house.
Now, if you've seen Earth: Final Conflict, you'll notice that I've borrowed one thing in my story -- the globalcom communicators. If you've read the stories dating before the comic strip, you'll also know that I have also stolen their gate technology and named it "transportals." Of course, their use is so heavily regulated that most of the time it's for emergency use.
So? What's this have to do with the price of a tree? Nothing. The treestands actually get "bugged" with a transceiver, and if a family decides to have the presents be delivered by Santa Claws, they register with a service company, make sure they're given the gifts, the tree stand plugged in (w/autowatering features!) and that the kids have put out some cookies and milk for Santa.
"Ho Ho Ho" after delivery is extra.
