susandeer had some Powerbook/iBook problems when I read this Slashdot article about what PBFixIt did: Free (as in beer) repair guides for Powerbook and iBook laptops. So I take a look.
Sue's problem was a HD on the fritz, which needed replacement. Okay, go in and take a PowerBook G4 Aluminum 12", and read through it.
It was no different than replacing the pickup on my old HP Laserjet III. Lots of screws, but once you got in there, it's an eazy replacement.
I should get some Torx bits...
