The PawsTooth
May. 19th, 2003 01:25 amIn a clearing of the woods between the Mauselium and the Hacker's Haven, a medium, four-story building appears...
...if the building was truly four stories.
The entry into this contemporary home modeled after Nero Wolfe's Brownstone starts with two double doors, both at least 13' tall. Inside is a massive hall -- massive that the halls are 16' tall by design, and the doorways at least 13'. A stairway on the right leads up half-way to a regular-sized hallway -- aparently, some normal-sized people can be accomidated here.
On the left of this main hallway, three doors lead to two rooms. The first goes into a small "receiving room" where a few couches of several sizes allow folks to be comfortable, especially durring poker games. The remainder lead into a study or library, filled with various books from Canmephian Anatomy to starmaps and ship schematics. Two desks highlight this room, even though a couch bookends one side and several chairs are littered around the room. A computer and some papers grace each desk. The hallway curves to the left behind this room.
Back on the right, past the stairways, are five doors. The first goes to a regular bathroom, while the second goes to a unusual bathroom -- this one contains a stall where a urinal is built into the wall and a bit of the floor, in addition to a specialized toilet. Thankfully, the two doors are different sizes so noone can confuse them. The third door is a standard walk-in closet, scaled up for the large host, while the fourth goes to a medium-sized dining hall used to entertain guests. Two doors inside the hall go to the bathrooms, while a third (and the last door in the hallway) lead into a kitchen any good chef would love to have. This kitchen stretches along the back of the house, and has a door out to the back.
The hallway itself leads to a stairway and an elevator, which takes folks down to the basement. Five main rooms are inside this basement set deep in the ground -- a bedroom that could accomidate a medium-sized giant; a bathroom with a waterfall-style shower/bath which just spans the whole room; a utility and laundry room, where washers and dryers are stored, as well as water purification and recycling equipment, heating, AC, and more are stored; a full-sized family room, converted into a den with a mini-bar/kitchenette and an artist pad; and a landing leading out to a full gym (located "outside" but still underground, yet the roof can be opened up).
The regular-sized upper floor is the host of three bedrooms and a bathroom, with all the regular stylings. Smaller guests are welcome here.
