It's 9pm on a Sunday night and I'm considering phoenixing my laptop and slapping in a Linux-From-Scratch distro.

I mean, I have Slackware 8.1 on it, and I see a good amount of bloat on it for a near-800 meg HD. I doubt I could do any better with RedHat, Mandrake, Debian...

Gentoo I'm not sure of. It's the eaziest to install but to truly install it, I have to netboot the ISO image.... which gets me intro some trouble because I have to insmod the drivers for the PCMCIA network card before netbooting.

Linux From Scratch I can try out, but it requires a bit more finnese that I'm really willing to tolerate. I'm spoiled on Gentoo's abilities.
