If you've read stalag99 you'll know that Mom wrenched her back Monday, went to the hospital late that day.

She went to her doctor today, and the diagnosis was that she's getting her back fused in two weeks, and there's nothing she can do about it.

So Dad's taking off for three weeks, and Mom will be in the hospital for three days after all the tests are in.  Then it'll be six weeks of functional recovery.

I better get my finances in order.

Yeowch! My sympathies, STriker. My wife had this done. And, frankly, it'll be more like 3 months in a brace with no bendling/lifting/twisting. Oh, and did I mention the painkillers? After that, it'll be at least three more months with a walker/cane/crutches. Be patient, it does heal eventually.
